Milwaukee The "Milwaukee" name comes from the Algonquian language word Millioke which means "good" and "pleasant land." Milwaukee lies along the border of Lake Michigan and at the assemblage of three rivers, "the Menomonee," "Kinnickinnic," and "Milwaukee."
